I may be a bit of a wet sock sometimes, what with my constant harping on the need for "smile for the camera" shots and using the AP style guide and such...but I wanted to tell all the writers and photographers who got out this weekend (and there were many) for Buffalo.com - you did a great job. Spotted looks really good. So do the new YourHub stories. I appreciate the effort! Well done, everyone.

...and a special atta-boy to Holland High School's Andy Butcher, who stepped up in a pinch and shot a nice Spotted gallery from the Holland Tulip Festival Queen Pageant. Thanks, Andy! Excellent first gallery.

A three-way race!

Our photo interns Sean Rudyk, Mary Mahoney, and Marc Wierzbowski all braved the rain and took photos at the Buffalo Shamrock Run this past Saturday. Each of them posted a nice gallery - lots of good stuff from one of the biggest races of the year in the city.

What I found quite interesting was the page view numbers. Check this out - these are current as of Wednesday at 4:11 PM.

Marc's gallery: 8,119 page views
Sean's gallery: 8,626 page views
Mary's gallery: 8,098 page views

Sean's ahead by a nose! Not that it's a competition, of course. It's just kind of weird that three galleries from the same event would have such similar page views. These strong numbers speak to the great efforts of our three photographers at the race on Saturday. Marc, Sean, Mary - thank you.

And while we're talking about the Celtic scene here in Buffalo...Darleen Stry posted a nice gallery from St. Bernadette's Irish Night in Hamburg, and Tom Parry showed some flash with his Gaelic Storm gallery (I don't know what I'm into awful puns lately). We have the Irish flu at Buffalo.com!

This has to be quick because I was an hour late for work today courtesy of the awful, awful traffic on the 219, but I wanted to share a couple nice notes about recognition our interns have recently received.

• Rachelle Roberts had her article from the Steve Winwood concert posted on Mr. Winwood's MySpace page. You have to be a "friend" of Mr. Winwood to view it, but if you have a MySpace account, I don't think he is real picky about who wants to "friend" him. The article has received 15 Kudos from other MySpace users. Nice work, Rachelle!
  
  
• Bill Parker had some nice words posted about his work at the Star 102.5-FM 80s party posted by DJ John Anthony at Mr. Anthony's blog. Way to go, Bill!
