Aquarium contest seeks Amateur photos of penguins
Niagara Falls, N.Y., Feb. 25, 2010 – The Aquarium of Niagara is sponsoring its second annual Amateur Photo Contest as part of the upcoming Penguin Days weekend. Area residents are invited to submit their original photographs of penguins, whether from the Aquarium of Niagara or other places.
The place winner will have a chance to meet a penguin at the Aquarium. The second and third place winners will receive art created by the Aquarium’s penguins. The winning entries will be displayed during Penguin Days, the Aquarium’s annual celebration of penguins, which will be held March 20-21.
Each entrant may submit between one and five photographs, either is color or black and white, before March 12.

Bunny Up For Gabrielle: at Nietzsche's 248 Allen Street downtown Buffalo, we are Bunnying-Up on Valentine's Day to celebrate the beautiful life of our fabulous friend, Gabrielle Bouliane. This fundraising party will be the perfect way to honor L*O*V*E, Gabby style! Gabrielle left this world end of January 2010 due to a rare form of cancer. This benefit is a celebration of her life. Gabrielle was a forerunner in supporting the arts, music and literary scene in Buffalo and WNY, bringing National and Global exposure to artists, musicians and this fine city. All funds donated on Feb 14, will go directly to Gabrielle's parents. A new fund will be announced in Gabrielle's honor to assist an emerging leader in cancer survival or one wishing to pursue the field of arts.

Labatt Blue Light, The Good Neighborhood and Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper are teaming up to present the inaugural Blue Light Border Cross, a 3-day event representing Canadian bands in Buffalo venues. Blue Light Border Cross celebrates the bond between our two countries and the waters we share, while continuing Buffalo’s great legacy as a gateway city for Canadian artists into the American music scene, with proceeds going to the preservation and protection efforts of Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper. Bunny Up For Gabrielle: at Nietzsche's 248 Allen Street downtown Buffalo, we are Bunnying-Up on Valentine's Day to celebrate the beautiful life of our fabulous friend, Gabrielle Bouliane. This fundraising party will be the perfect way to honor L*O*V*E, Gabby style! Gabrielle left this world end of January 2010 due to a rare form of cancer. This benefit is a celebration of her life. Gabrielle was a forerunner in supporting the arts, music and literary scene in Buffalo and WNY, bringing National and Global exposure to artists, musicians and this fine city. All funds donated on Feb 14, will go directly to Gabrielle's parents. A new fund will be announced in Gabrielle's honor to assist an emerging leader in cancer survival or one wishing to pursue the field of arts.
Several musicians will donate their time and talent. 2-11pm
