Buffalo.com Events List 5/10

Hello everyone,

Let’s hope the crazy rainstorms die down for a bit so we can get to some more events! Next weekend is supposed to be really nice so hopefully we can get you out to some of the great events in the area.

Here are the events we really want to get to this week:

Thursday:

Labatt Blue Light Border Cross Concert Series – Sportsmens Tavern – 8:00 p.m.
Blue Light Border Cross celebrates the bond between our two countries and the waters we share, while continuing Buffalo’s great legacy as a gateway city for Canadian artists into the American music scene and supporting the preservation and protection efforts of Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper.
Hamilton’s “acid folk” pioneers Lee Harvey Osmond, featuring Tom Wilson of Blackie & the Rodeo Kings and Junkhouse fame will perform. There will also be a raffle of Labatt Blue Light gear.

Friday:

Spring into Summer Festival- Hamburg Fairgrounds- 5:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Come and enjoy an exciting festival atmosphere celebrating everything that's summer. For 2 days, guests will enjoy music and sample local wine, food, and beer, while exhibitors offer enticing deals and ideas for summer fun in Greater Buffalo and the Niagara Frontier! Live entertainment featuring Hit N Run on Friday. There will also be some great door prizes, and a silent auction benefiting youth fitness organizations. 2nd Annual St Luke's Mission of Mercy Run for Goodness Sake Quarter Marathon
Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens – 9:00 a.m.
2 Mile Fun Walk and Quarter Marathon Race

Walk for Celiac Awareness, Making Tracks for Celiacs - Clarence Town Park
Registration: 9:30 a.m. Walk (1.5 or 3miles): 10:30 a.m.

Buffalo Wellfest 2010 – Bills Field House -10:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.
The 4th annual Buffalo Wellfest continues to improve on its tradition as Western New York’s most comprehensive healthy living exposition with a series of three events that bring a new level of exposure to the event and community at large. BlueCross BlueShield of WNY members and their families will join in the fun at the Field House with interactive sports stations to test their fitness and endurance levels.

Bo Burnham- The Town Ballroom- 7:00 p.m.
Burnham is an American comedian, singer-songwriter, musician, actor, and Internet celebrity. Writing comedic and satirical songs with a politically incorrect slant, his YouTube videos have received more than 60.3 million views as of April 2010.[ His first EP—Bo Fo Sho—was released in June 2008 by Comedy Central Records, and his first full-length self titled album was released by the same label in March 2009. On January 31, 2010 it was announced that Burnham finished #2 overall in voting in 2010's Comedy Central Stand-up Showdown.

Mark Twain Live!- Lancaster Opera House- 7:30 p.m.

Since 1972 this Nationally Acclaimed one-man Mark Twain Stage Production has charmed audiences throughout the United States and Canada. Sylvia Browne- Seneca Niagara Events Center - 8 p.m.
Don’t miss your opportunity to see world-famous psychic and #1 New York Times best-selling author, Sylvia Browne. J. Medicine Hat has been a fixture in the comedy club scene for over 20 years. He started his career in the early 80's as a Stand-up Comedian, Star Search soon followed along with Showtime, HBO, MTV and VH1.

2010 Fredonia Walk MS- Russell Joy Park Road, Fredonia – 10:00 a.m.
You can bring us closer to a world free of MS. Walk MS is fun with an important purpose. We unite as a community during Walk MS to make a powerful statement - to keep up moving toward a cure.

Keyboard Pops Concert –Riviera Theater - 2:00 pm
This favorite “Boston Pops” style concert will feature the Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Organ, a Concert Grand Piano, and the American Legion Band of the Tonawandas. The show will feature well known songs and medleys played by world famous keyboard soloists, Jelani Eddington and Chris Gorsuch.

M&T Classics Series : Brahms Requiem – Kleinhan’s Music Hall- 2:30 p.m.
The Bowmanville Ontario High School Orchestra will be performing a free concert in the Mary Seaton Room at 1:45 p.m. before the BPO’s performance.
