We have a few festive events to look forward to on Saturday:
2nd Annual Peep Eating Contest Broadway Market- 999 Broadway 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
This sounds like a fun seasonal event that a lot of people will attend. The Broadway Market is always extra busy before Easter and it would be great to get someone to this contest! Thanks to Ray for telling us about it.
How many marshmallow peeps can you devourer in 60 seconds? Winners get title and prizes! Registration starts at 11am at the Information Booth on day of the event.

2nd Annual BunnyFest - Benefit for Roswell Park Cancer Institute Choco-Logo
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.,
Join Choco-Logo for a benefit for Roswell Park Cancer Institute. It's Easter time and bunnies will be running the chocolate factory! Activities for the BunnyFest will include make your own chocolate Easter Bunny, demonstration of chocolate cornflake nests production, face painting, Easter tattoos, pose for a photo with the Easter Bunny (bring your own camera), Raffles, Door Prizes, Balloons and more!

Holiday Valley's Pond Skimming Spring Party Holiday Valley
This would be great for photos or an article if you feel like a little road trip!
What would Spring at Holiday Valley be without the Pond Skimming Spring Party!
This day includes the Bump or Burn Dual Mogul Competition (register from 7:30 to 8:30 in Training Center), the Pond Skimming competition (register at 11:00, starts at 1:00), and more exciting fun to be announced.
All the action takes place at Yodeler...bring your friends, your lawn chair, sunglasses and swimmies...and be there!

BPO Award-winning Youth Concert 10:15 a.m.- 11:45 Kleinhans Music Hall
Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Associate Conductor, Matthew Kraemer invites school administrators, the media, and interested business leaders to attend one of our award-winning Youth Concerts sponsored by HSBC from 10:15-11:00 am at Kleinhans Music Hall. Matthew Kraemer will host a coffee and donut reception after the concert for all guests, from 11:00 – 11:45 am.
Andy Parker from Channel 2 Weather will be in attendance for the “Music in the Clouds” concert along with 2,000 school children from 3rd to 6th grades.
BPO Youth Concerts have been recognized nationally for their quality and innovation.

Moscow Festival Ballet Swan Lake UB Center for the Arts - 8 p.m.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Moscow Festival Ballet brings together the highest classical elements of the great Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies. Swan Lake, a full-length ballet in four acts, is one of dance's most popular and enduring works.

The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band Tralf Music Hall- Doors open at 7:00 p.m.

Women and the Law Program The Buffalo & Erie County Public Library -12 p.m.
Help commemorate Women’s History Month!
Two of Western New York’s eminent practitioners in the legal field will discuss the increasingly influential roles of women in the local and national justice system in a lunchtime program, “Women and the Law.” The program is free and open-to-the-public. Speakers Maryann Saccomando Freedman, of Counsel at Cohen & Lombardo, P.C. and Erie County Family Court Judge Lisa Bloch Rodwin will discuss the impacts that women as attorneys, legislators, advocates, judges and clients are having on how the law is written, interpreted and applied.
This program is presented in conjunction with the Library’s activities commemorating March as Women’s History Month and its current exhibition The Three Thayers: Murder and Spectacle in Early Buffalo, on display through May 23rd.

Sabres Power Play Luncheon with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman HSBC Arena

The Buffalo Sabres have announced that NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman will be the keynote speaker at the final Power Play Luncheon in the HSBC Arena 100 Level Harbour Club.

UB’s HAITI OUTREACH Drama Theatre at UB’s Center for the Arts
1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Several members of the UB community who answered the call to help Haiti following the Jan. 12 disaster will provide an inside look at their experiences in a program, “UB Reaching Others: The Haiti Earthquake.”

Greater Buffalo Youth Ballet presents The Sleeping Beauty UB Center for the Arts

Come see this well loved classical ballet that is wondrous to see, glorious to hear and ablaze with fantasy, brought to the stage by the Greater Buffalo Youth Ballet. In the midst of the Great Depression, Susannah Mullally travels the country, recording lost traditional songs for the Library of Congress. Hoping to find the one song that will bring her long-awaited recognition, she discovers Pearl Johnson in a Texas prison. With a soulful voice & a wealth of African-American spiritual songs, Pearl seeks information & a chance at freedom. Relay For Life of The University at Buffalo Sat. Mar. 27, 2010 - Sun. Mar. 28, 2010 6:00pm-6:00am
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event.
Anyone can participate in Relay For Life. No matter who you are, there’s a place for you at Relay.

Passion Pit Rapids Theater, Niagara Falls, NY 7:00 p.m.
Passion Pit is an electronic band that formed in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The lead singer, Michael Angelakos, is a Buffalo native and the concert hall is sure to be full of local fans. This event would be great for both photographers and a writer!

Monday

6th Annual Scotty Bowman Showcase HSBC Arena. 6 p.m.
The showcase consists of two all-star hockey games between high school aged players from Buffalo against their rivals from Rochester. The event will also feature a 20-minute Girls Showcase between games, featuring the top local high school girl’s players from the Buffalo-area club teams.
The event is named after the legendary Scotty Bowman, the winningest coach in NHL history. He will be in attendance to present the Bowman Cup to the victorious senior team.
This year’s event will once again feature Music is Art’s “High School Battle of The Bands,” featuring some of the best musical talent that Western New York has to offer. Six finalists (chosen from over 150 WNY schools) will perform during intermission and in between games for a panel of music industry professionals, with one chosen as the Best High School Band in WNY. The bands will compete in a special performance area in the Zamboni end of the arena, which will be broadcast on the HD videoboard and throughout the arena sound system.
