Here are the “Top 5” events for the week:

Thursday:

Thursday at the Square – 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. - Lafayette Square
Thursday at the Square will kick off its 24th Anniversary Season with Alejandro Escovedo and The Sensitive Boys. Rolling Stone Magazine says Escovedo is “in his own genre” and we couldn’t agree more. He is a punk rock dude, roots rocker, alt-country singer-songwriter who has played with The Nuns, Rank and File and True Believers. Escovedo was named the 2008 Austin Music Awards Musician of the Year - don’t miss your chance to see this renowned musician open the 2010 Thursday at the Square season in Downtown Buffalo. Special guest for the evening will be Tift Merritt.

Friday:

Tower Jam Concert Series- Brownman - 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.- HSBC Center Plaza
Internationally acclaimed jazz trumpeter Brownman stride into the city on Friday as the first act in the inaugural Tower Jam concert series at One HSBC Center in downtown Buffalo. The beloved, genre-crossing Toronto horn aficianado will play a retrospective of the works of legendary jazzman Miles Davis with a pickup combo of Buffalo jazz all-stars - a nice post-work treat for anyone ready to call it a week.

Save the Boobies: Charity Bar Crawl – 8:00 p.m.
To benefit the Sisterhood Wellness Center of WNY (breast cancer survivors)

8th Annual Polish Heritage Festival - 4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. - Hamburg Fairgrounds
The Festival serves to promote Polish culture and traditions. It is a family-oriented gathering place with activities and fun for all ages. This year's festival features the music of: the John Gora Band, Mon Valley Push, John Stevens' Doubleshot, and Jerry Darlak & the Touch! There will be continuous Polish music, the Cracovia Polish Dance Ensemble from Brampton, the Polish Heritage Dancers, the Ludowa Nuta Polish Choir, and dancing.

See the city from a point that most will never be able to experience in their lives. We will spend this beautiful Saturday morning overlooking the waterfront and the city of Buffalo from the 37th floor of the HSBC tower. While sipping mimosas and enjoying brunch we will go in groups of 10 to the rooftop for a personalized 360 degree tour of the city.

Buffalo Bisons Star Wars Night – 6:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m. – Coca Cola Field
Star Wars characters from The 501st Legion’s Garrison Excelsior, The Rebel Legion’s Echo Base and The North Ridge FanForce chapter will be on hand to entertain and pose for photos at the Buffalo Bisons Star Wars theme night during their Saturday, June 12th game. Star Wars characters will be waiting to greet fans when the gates open and they'll be available for photos and autographs throughout the evening. Plus they will be helping fundraise for charity. Make sure to bring your camera to get photos with characters from the Star Wars universe!

Fear Factory and All That Remains - Doors open at 6:30 p.m. – Town Ballroom
103.3 The Edge will present an epic double headlining night of rock.
Fear Factory is an American heavy metal band. Formed in 1989, they have released seven full-length albums and a number of singles and remixes. Over the course of their career they have evolved from a succession of styles, as well as steadily pioneered a combination of the styles death metal, groove metal, thrash metal and industrial metal. The resultant sound proved to be enormously influential on the metal scene from the mid-90s and onwards.

Lewis Black – 8:00 p.m. Seneca Niagara Events Center
Lewis is one of the most prolific and popular performers working today. He executes a brilliant trifecta as stand-up comedian, actor and author. Receiving critical acclaim, he performs over 200 nights a year to sold out audiences throughout Europe, New Zealand, Canada and The United States. He is one of few performers to sell out multiple, renowned theatres, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Brooks Atkinson Theatre, New York City Center and the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. In August 2007, he was the first stand-up comedian to ever perform in concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.
Lewis’ live performances provide a cathartic release of anger and disillusionment for his audience. Lewis yells so they don’t have to. A passionate performer who is more pissed-off optimist than mean-spirited curmudgeon. Lewis is the rare comic who can cause an audience to laugh themselves into incontinence while making compelling points about the absurdity of our world.

Orchestral Fireworks – 8:00 p.m. – Kleinhans Music Hall
The season concludes with JoAnn Falletta leading a firey program that opens with Stravinsky's Fireworks. Phillippe Bianconi is the featured soloist in Prokofiev’s Third Piano Concerto and Maestro Falletta concludes the program, leading the orchestra in Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique.

Founders' Day – 11:00 a.m. - Niagara Falls USA Hard Rock Café
In honor of Hard Rock’s Founders’ Day, police, firefighters and emergency medical technicians, are invited to visit Hard Rock Cafe - Niagara Falls, USA and enjoy a specially priced burger from Hard Rock’s Legendary Experience menu. Throughout the day, eligible civil servants will also receive a limited-edition Hard Rock Cafe bear, made by Herrington Teddy Bears, to re-distribute to a child in need of comfort.
